How does it work?

Contextual search

We make official legal documents searchable contextually in natural language by embedding and including them in our vector database.

Asking questions

We use retrieval augmented generation (RAG) to first find the most contextually relevant resources to your question. Then, we send the documents and your question to the LLM.

Getting references

The LLM answers are based only on the relevant documents from our vector database. This allows us to minimize hallucinations and give you references for every answer.

What is included in the beta version?

You can currently use our beta version for legal research in the area of European privacy and technology law. Our model has been trained on the relevant legislation and documents from EUR-lex, CJEU caselaw, EDPB and EDPS guidelines and opinions.

We're working on adding Member State resources soon (e.g., national DPAs decisions and guidelines) so stay tuned!

What is the technology behind it?

CuratedAI uses Large Language Models (LLMs) to generate and search text. When you run a query, first, CuratedAI searches through a high number of documents from the main EU legal databases to retrieve the ones that are relevant to your question. When you select documents to chat with, they are provided to the LLM, that “reads” them and uses them to formulate its answer.

As the answers are based on the retrieved official documents, they are highly reliable and can easily be double-checked using the provided references.

Can I trust the results?

The answers you receive are always based on official EU legal documents, making our solution reliable and more trustworthy than generic GPT-based AI models such as ChatGPT.

We also make it easy to double-check the results by providing you with exact references to the documents each answer is based on.

Do I need specific skills to prompt?

Not really. We're doing the heavy lifting legal prompt engineering, so you don't have to. You can ask any questions in natural language, as you would phrase them to a colleague (or yourself), without thinking about key words or search formulas. The only trick is to give as many details as possible if you want very targeted results and answers.
